If you pursue happiness, you will become more and more unhappy. If you try hard reaching a goal, achieving something and expecting happiness when you get there, then you will be going too direct, like an arrow, and life doesn’t like shortcuts. You may attain your target, but happiness will not be there.
Don’t bother about happiness, just live. With time you will learn that happiness is a state of being, which doesn’t require any achievements, which is not dependent on anything external to you.

The first step towards love is to feel more. Feel everything around you; let everything give you a feeling. Just listen to the poetry of trees and their color, listen to the sound of birds, the poetry of waters, and feel.
And the second step towards love is to be more. Don’t pay much attention to that which you do or have done, pay attention to that which you are. Just try to be more. Just feel you are. Feel, be. Close your eyes and grope in the dark for the being. Grope! Feel your being.
A man goes to the police station wanting to speak to the burglar who broke into his house the night before.

Love is responsibility; love is to be open and responsive. When the other calls, you are ready to respond with your totality. When the other invites, you join. When the other is not inviting, you don’t interfere, you don’t trespass. When the other sings, you sing in response. When the other gives you her or his hand, you take it with deep response.
But, don’t confuse love, responsibility with duty. Duty is ugly; it is a burden, a bondage. Sooner or later, you will feel suffocated, you will like to rebel and revolt.
